Never Made To Fly

I emerged with my wings clipped
Made to fear the sky
When all I wanted was to soar
Never leaving upon my branch
As the world flies by below me
Above me
The world spins as I sit still
A courage thrived inside
In spite of the panic bestowed upon me
I jump only to plummet
So far from the world I’ve known
Yet still far from a world I’ve never explored
Soft grass under feet
But no wind under wings
For my wings were clipped
So that I could never soar
